User Interaction and Client Needs
In 2017, a local airline approached Kickr Design to help address a major need: low use and adoption of a new device that would streamline the check-in process across touch points in the user journey at the airport.
“It looks backwards”
Users had a hard time figuring out how to interact with the device.
We were tasked with finding out why, and what could be done to improve it.
The main challenges: little time, and little control over most of the product ecosystem.

Evaluate Concepts
By presenting and evaluating our foam models, animations, and breadboard mockups with key stakeholders, we chose a direction to refine and develop for production. Further evaluation could be done using Keyshot renders, and making iterative progress as we went.
Project Wrap
The scanners were put into use right on schedule, and received positive feedback. Our goals to elevate the user journey through the check-in process were successful.
