Mixers: design snapshots
Audio mixers are one of the most robust and indispensable pieces of equipment in any controlled sound environment. They merge multiple audio sources, refine the signal, allow for on-the-fly adjustments, and provide feedback to a sound engineer. Working across a number of brands, I've designed dozens of mixers, both digital and analog.

The ProFX line needed an update. The color palette and knobs were beginning to feel dated, and we felt our users would appreciate something that would feel more at home in their modern studios. For the ProFX v2, I reduced the contrast in paint, switched to a more modern color palette, and reduced visual clutter by using a more cohesive silkscreen.
I designed the silkscreen to provide the same amount of information with less visual color. Introducing a green accent to the layout allows a user to find the information they need, yet isn't as visually heavy as a solid black color fill. The outline and angled labels and accents add a slight amount of "technical" feel.
